Follow up as service?

You probably have heard of SaaS – Software as a Service. What would happen if you saw follow up as a service?

Follow Up isn’t about “needing” the other person”

I admit, following up can be tedious. One thing that makes it worse is the feeling that you “need” them to act. People tend to avoid “needy” people. So don’t be one.

One way to get into a better headspace is to remind yourself of the problem you are solving for the other person.

Rather than being a needy person, you’re being a helper. That’s a much better place to be calling from!

“Thank you” or “Congratulations”?

If you’ve ever purchased something from me, you’ll notice I don’t say “thank you.” It’s not that I’m being inconsiderate. It’s because I know you’re not doing me a favor.

I always say, “Congratulations!” Because I know you’re making a purchase to help you grow. And personal growth deserves congratulations!

As you go through your follow up today, pay attention to when you feel like you’re “needing” someone to respond. If you sense it:

  • Pause.
  • Take a breath.
  • Remind yourself of the problem you are helping them solve if they move forward with you.
  • Then pick up the phone again.

Have a great day of follow up!

Or maybe I should say: have a great day of offering F.u.a.S!
