I was scrolling through Instagram this morning and came across this carousel about bad habits. Habit #6 stood out in particular:

I had not heard of Jonathan Mann, but I liked this thought process so I looked him up. And I found an article he wrote about The 70–20–10 Theory on Medium. He is a songwriter and writes a song every day. Can you imagine? Some of his stuff had gone viral, but most of it has not which is what led him to the 70-20-10 theory.

His point?

It’s not “quantity or quality”. It’s: “quantity breeds quality”.

I like that better than “practice makes perfect” because practice just cannot equal perfection. BUT it does make success way more likely.

So today is just a quick reminder than not everything you do will be great or go viral, but just keep writing, designing, filming, publishing, etc. Your 10% of amazing is waiting.
