โœ๏ธ Partnership Notes

1. David Hessekiel wrote a good article on the shuttering of AmazonSmile and how he's not disappointed that it's going away. I agree - although I'm sad that so many businesses don't offer any way for customers to give to small charities. The big orgs get all the โค๏ธ.

2. Do you have guidelines for corporate engagement?

Not sure what I'm talking about? Check out these two examples. The first is from The Nature Conservancy. The second is from the Canadian Wildlife Federation .

I think more organizations are interested in creating their own guidelines, and I want to have examples to share with my readers and clients.

Do you have guidelines? Do you make them public? Can you share a link with me by hitting reply? ๐Ÿ™

3. You call prospects all the time and what do you say? "How are you?" But what if there was a something better to say???

My go-to question is the classic "What's your favorite color?" from Buddy the Elf. But these 10 unique follow-ups to โ€œHow are you?" might be a better option!

I particularly like #5, #6, and #10 because they shows the prospect that you are paying attention.

1. For all the talk about ChatGPT, you can do better than the robots by leaning into your humanity. Six ways to beat the bots and become irreplaceable!

2. Route donors directly to the donation page on your website with a new dot.giving domain.

3. The right channel for the right audience. This nonprofit newsroom is using voice-note newsletters to reach its audience in Minnesota.

๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒ Brain Food

1.  My 8 best techniques for evaluating character. #1: Ignore what they say - instead look at who they marry.

2. Why you should encourage your kids to become electricians .

3. Top holiday toys from the year you were born.

For the year I was born, 1967, it was Lite-Brite. I grew up poor so I never got one. We used to just pull down the window shades and poke holes in them with a pin. Mom loved that!

This list goes all the way back to 1920.๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ Message to my mom who was born in 1931. Bringing you finger paints this weekend!
