Last Christmas I visited my brother and his family in Paris. Exactly one year ago today, we toured the Château de Chantilly where I snapped this picture. It's an amazing place. My favorite part was visiting the restaurant where I ate a whole bowl of Chantilly whipped cream.😋

My what a difference a year makes. Thank goodness I have a stockpile of whipped cream, albeit in the can.

But seriously, I know how fortunate I've been the past year when others have suffered so much. I'm thankful and hopeful that you and yours have also been spared the past year. Like me, I hope you are only missing the sweet topping that makes all the difference in life.

Because the news was slow the past week, I've included a few of the most popular links I've shared over the past year. Let's call them the BEST OF 2020.

It seems strange to label anything the "Best of 2020." But I'm pretty sure better days are ahead for all of us. So let's toast to that! 🥂🎉🎊😘

✍️ Partnership Notes

1. This company committed to sponsorships with two nonprofits and then didn't pay up. Hmmm...should nonprofits require new sponsors to pay up in total - or at least half - up front?

2. How to keep closing partnership deals during the pandemic. #4: Pitch all deals like you are pitching to a CFO. [Best of 2020]

3. I really enjoyed reading United Spinal Association's Corporate Connection newsletter. A monthly or quarterly newsletter is a great way to stay in front of partners and prospects.

🤑 Marketing Your Cause

1. How to make an amazing introduction via email. Great advice to give someone who you've asked to introduce you to a prospect. Or maybe you write the intro up for them so they can just copy and send?

2. Some great advice here on building your audience on Twitter. I plan to use it myself!

3. 26 things your nonprofit should be doing to get ready for the return to normal. #2: Collect and post testimonials.💥[Best of 2020] [Case Study Service]

😎 Cool Jobs in Cause

1. Corporate Partnerships Operations Manager, Habitat for Humanity, Atlanta ($39k - $54k)

2. Corporate Partnership Associate, Boston Medical Center, Boston

3. Specialist, Corporate Partnership Development, National Geographic Fine Arts Galleries, Washington, DC ($63k to $84k)

🧠🍌 Brain Food

1. Like everything else, hockey's annual teddy bear toss continued this year but had to adapt for the pandemic.

2. How do selfish assholes live with themselves? 🤔[Best of 2020]

3. Ten life lessons on 2020 from nearly 1,300 people. #2: A crisis doesn’t change people; it amplifies who they already are.
