✍️ Partnership Notes

1. A good slide for your pitch deck. 7 in 10 consumers say they tend to buy brands that reflect their personal values.

"Alignment with personal values can mean a variety of things to consumers, a past study has revealed, including being respected, supporting good causes, making a difference, and equal rights."

2. Why you should be targeting jewelry stores in 2024.

Jewelry stores that partner with causes, according to ChatGPT-4

  1. Alex and Ani: Known for their Charity By Design collection, they partner with various nonprofits and donate a portion of the proceeds from specific charm bracelets.

  2. Pandora: This popular jewelry brand has partnered to create special pieces or collections to support various causes and charities.

  3. Kendra Scott: The brand is known for its philanthropic efforts through its Kendra Gives Back program, hosting events and creating pieces where proceeds benefit numerous nonprofits.

  4. Tiffany & Co.: Through various initiatives and partnerships, they've supported environmental conservation and other causes.

  5. David Yurman: This brand has a history of creating unique pieces where a portion of the sales goes to support different charitable organizations.

3. Three ways to tell if your partnership is on shaky grounds. You always want to keep your partners close to you. Write case studies, follow and track them on social media, chat with them when they aren't expecting a call, etc.

🤑 Marketing Your Cause

1. Should you prioritize ATTENTION or TRUST in your communications with current and prospective partners? You need both, but I'd focus on the latter.

(N)othing is as fast as the speed of trust … In a high-trust relationship, you can say the wrong thing and people will still get your meaning. In a low-trust relationship, you can be very measured, even precise, and they’ll still misinterpret you.“ - Stephen Covey

Two ways to grow trust through content

  1. Tap attention to build trust. When prospects visit your partnership web page, attention is high, but trust is low. Include high-quality free content to build trust, but keep other content, like detailed case studies, gated and ask for an email.

  2. Build trust through consistency. Encourage web page visitors to share their email addresses to receive high-quality regular content via a bi-monthly or monthly email newsletter.

2. Trying to pick the right social media channel to reach the right audience. This graph will help.

😎 Cool Jobs In Cause

1. Corporate Partnership Officer, Museum of Flight, Seattle ($80k - $110k)

2. Director, Corporate Partnerships, ZERO Prostate Cancer, Remote

3. Director, Business Partnerships, Humane Society of the United States, $115k - $140k)

4. Associate Vice President, Corporate Philanthropy, City of Hope, Remote

🧠🍌 Brain Food

1. Why we need to treat and fund museums, theaters, and galleries like interstate highways. 🎁 (🎁 = I subscribe to this publication and am "gifting" you the article.)

2. We haven't had much of a winter here in Boston. That's two mild winters in a row. Still, it's winter, right? I'm proud to report I have a few things popping in February!

I've been trying to add more "winter interest" to my garden for the past few years!

Left to Right: Hellebores, Witch Hazel, Arctic Sun Dogwood, Winter Aconites
