Newsletter: 9 Partnership Posts You Might Have Missed This Summer ⛱ ; Nature Valley Launches ‘Do Good & Get Goods’ on TikTok 😇 ; Steal from Mother Theresa for Your Partnership Marketing 🙏

On Sunday I dropped my son off at college for his sophomore year.

At 8pm it's already dark.

I'm starting to see late-season blooms in the garden like goldenrods, asters, and pink sedums.

I can't believe September is right around the corner.

A new month! A new season!

Before publishing any more new content, I thought it might be helpful to review what I've written this summer to make sure you haven't missed anything that could be helpful!

✍️ Partnership Notes

1. A good article to share with your corporate partners. A company's support for social causes will help it better ride out a recession.

Is your corporate partner just getting started in purpose marketing? Phil Haid at Public 🥰 just wrote an excellent article offering ten lessons to succeed with purpose.

2. Not a cause-related story, but there's a lot partnership pros can glean from it on getting sponsors. Turning bad into good, being creative and scrappy, using social media. Love it! ❤️

3. Do good and get goods is the value exchange in Nature Valley’s first-of-its-kind TikTok execution.

“This is the first program on TikTok where a brand is rewarding users with a creator-curated shopping experience in return for sustainable practices."

Nature Valley is also touting its $3 million partnership with National Park Foundation.

🤑 Marketing Your Cause

1. Companies are obsessed with building community. Should nonprofits join in?

2. Let's steal from Mother Theresa for our partnership marketing.

"The next time you’re writing a blog, eBook, social post...think of what Mother Teresa said: 'If I look at the masses, I will never act. If I look at the one, I will.' Is there a story you can lead in with about a human moment instead of a big statistic?"

3. Two millions site visitors every month. 19,000 followers on Facebook. 47,000 followers on Twitter. How a tiny nonprofit is positioning itself for big success down the road.

😎 Cool Jobs in Cause

1. Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships, National Park Foundation, Washington, D.C.

2. Corporate Relations Officer, Lifespan, Providence, RI

3. Coordinator, Corporate Philanthropy & Partnerships, National Geographic Society, Washington, DC

4. Development Director, Cause Marketing, National 4-H Council, Chevy Chase, MD ($110k - $120k)

🧠🍌 Brain Food

1. How to create an amazing donation receipt for your donors.

2. People are paying thousands of the dollars to have personal messages written on shells used by the Ukrainian Army. They’ve raised over $200k for charity.😳💣

3. I'm shooting for a good-enough-life. What about you?
