First, I want to wish you a very happy holiday season! 🎁

Second, I'm looking for a few volunteers to speak to next week. I'm working on a 14-point checklist I'm calling the 2021 Corporate Partnership Checklist. It reviews all the things I believe you need to be doing in 2021 to be successful with corporate partnerships.

Super helpful, right? I agree! But I want to run it by a few nonprofits before I actually launch it.

Here's what I need from you.

  1. Via Zoom, I'll need about 20 minutes of your time over the next week.

  2. You have to work in a nonprofit because that's who the checklist is for. However, you don't have to specifically work in corporate partnerships. If you're a development director or ED that just wants to grow your partnership program that's fine too.

  3. After our initial conversation on the checklist - and as a thank you for your time -I'm happy to talk to you about anything you want. Suggestion: I could say words with r's in them so you could hear my wicked Boston accent??

  4. Interested? Just reply to this email. I want to pick nonprofits of different types and sizes.

Thank you an advance for your help!

✍️ Partnership Notes

1. 5 creative examples of corporate partnerships. #2 was especially interesting. Thanks to newsletter reader Ephraim Gopin for sending this - and so many other articles - my way over the past year.

2. Some good lessons here. 3 b-corps share how to create mission-aligned partnerships.

3. As the donations climb so do the lights on this Christmas tree! Not to outdone, White Castle is teaming up with actor Richard Dreyfuss for a reading of Twas the Night Before Cravemas. Each video view triggers a $1 donation to Change is on the Menu, a fundraising effort for restaurant workers..

4. It appears that making corporate connections is not that much different from making connections in Hollywood. Two things ring true. It will work. But it doesn't work overnight.

🤑 Marketing Your Cause

1. Virtual events aren't going away so you might as well learn how to do them better.

2. How Instagram and email can work together. However, if you can only choose one, email is still the best channel, IMHO.

😎 Cool Jobs in Cause

1. Sales Development Associate, DipJar, Cambridge, MA ($32k - $42k)

Do you have a partnership position you are trying to fill? Hit reply and share your job listing with me! I'm happy to post it here for FREE.

🧠🍌 Brain Food

1. Rocket Social Impact asked purpose-driven leaders from brands and nonprofits to share one change or goal they are seeking to make in the new year.

2. President Obama’s lessons for nonprofit leaders. Advice from A Promised Land.

3. Public in Toronto insists we give 2020 the send off it deserves. I agree! NSFW.
