I'm super-excited for our second book club 📘meeting tomorrow at 4pm ET. We'll be talking about the book Fanocracy by David Meerman Scott and Reiko Scott. This was a really fun book to read with lots of actionable insights on how organizations can build a bigger, better fanbase.

As the Scotts note, "Fandom isn’t just for celebrities anymore! It can be rocket fuel for any business or nonprofit that chooses to focus on inspiring and nurturing true fans."

3. Lego is taking a stand in support of Black Lives Matter by donating $4 million to causes by changing how it markets certain toy sets. Message: Everything is not awesome.

4. I've written before on how the National Audubon Society's efforts to build an engaged, loyal audience have paid off in a big way. First, there was the partnership with Allbirds. Now, grower and garden retailer Bower & Branch has released a special selection of Audubon-certified native oak trees online at Costco. What's stopping you from building your audience?

As Joe Pulizzi shared in his newsletter (and Robert Rose first reported on the This Old Marketing podcast)..."For years, Founder Jack Martin has been sharing a weather report with his local community, which is even followed by the local news teams in the area. Jack and Action Roofing have become rock stars because of it." Show up consistently and provide value. You'll be blown away what you can accomplish!
