Newsletter: Ben & Jerry's Launches Content Partnership🎙; Busch’s Beer for Dogs Benefits Animal Charity🍺 ; Getting Your Nonprofit’s Story Told During Election Season 🗳

👏👏👏A big thanks to everyone who attended our first Learning Club last week. As many of you already know, we switched the reading club to a learning club as the former wasn't attracting the following we had hoped for.

And, WOW, what a difference. We had 60 people for our club meeting last week on the future of retail.

And we had an excellent conversation!

The next Learning Club topic will be announced next week with all the suggested resources. But if you want to sign up early....

Thanks again and have a great Labor Day weekend. 🏖🍔

✍️ Partnership Notes

1. To show its unequivocal support for protests against racial injustice, this business looted its own store and gave the products to food pantries.

2. Busch's new beer for dogs will benefit Best Friends Animal Society. 🐶🍻🐶

3. Ben & Jerry's and The Who We Are Project are launching a podcast examining the lesser-known history of racial injustice. This is a great example of a "content partnership" that will raise awareness first and funds later. Build an audience. Engage with that audience. Monetize that audience.

4. Carol 'Mom' Cone shared this on Twitter. A listing of watchdog groups that track and evaulate corporate impact. This is more important than ever!

🤑 Marketing Your Cause

1. Why nostalgia marketing is the next big idea for your nonprofit. Is this the case for your nonprofit? I would ❤️to see some examples!

2. How to get your nonprofit's story told during election season. My fave is #2: fact check the debates.

3. The Morning Brew newsletter just hit one million subscribers. Regardless of what type of content you adopt, you need incredible content, an intense focus and a few marketing insights. Focus on the how of what you're doing!

😎 Cool Jobs in Cause

1. Donor Relations Coordinator, United Way of San Diego County, San Diego ($50k - $55k)

2. Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, The Nature Conservancy, Arlington, VA or Remote

3. Client Strategy Director, Public, Ideally NYC

🧠🍌 Brain Food

1. What nonprofits should do every month from now until January to make the best of a frightening year.

2. You can stop worrying about dying from Covid. 🌋😳

3. This week's gahhden photo is of Stonecrop Sedum (that's just starting to turn pink!), Little Lemon Goldenrod 🐝, orange Hawaiian Flare Bidens and Rainbow Lantana.
