Here's a question for you: Is employee engagement your most valuable virtual asset? πŸ€”

There are two ways to find out.

First, today on my blog, Brittany Hill (affectionally known πŸ₯°as Brit-Bit at Selfish Giving HQ) at Accelerist has penned a post on this very subject. She discusses the benefits of employee engagement and three ways to develop it. You can read it here.

Second, to learn more about how employee engagement opportunities should be your newest valuable asset, register here for an upcoming webinar featuring DonorDrive and Blessings in a Backpack πŸ™πŸŽ’on Wednesday, August 26th at 2pm (EDT) for a FREE webinar. You can sign up here!

✍️ Partnership Notes

1. This was a fun idea for our pandemic summer. Sprecher Brewing Co. teamed up with Cedar Crest Ice Cream on National Root Beer Float Day to give away thousands of free floats and attempt to break a world record [VIDEO]. It raised over $6,500 for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. Nice work raising money and social distancing!

2. In the world of email newsletters, Dave Pell's NextDraft is legendary! Readers can buy this Harriet Tubman tee ($20) and every dime is going to Donors Choose K-12 program focused on Black history, literature, equality, and/or racial justice. To date, Dave has raised $35,000! Pretty good for a guy with a newsletter. Wait. Hmmm...πŸ€”

3. Former Trump crony Michael Cohen really needs to read Karen Wu's Corporate Partnership & The Law series - especially the post on advertising disclosures!

4. This business committed to raising $500,000 with a round-up program at its 1,500 stores. They just announced they've already raised a million dollars. πŸ’Έ

πŸ€‘ Marketing Your Cause

1. Like many nonprofits, medical nonprofits are struggling right now. Fortunately, Harvard Business School and Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation have published a playbook to help them survive.

2. This is an interesting argument. In our Covid world, does every brand (yes, you too!) need to behave like a health and wellness brand. Plus, four ways to turn health into wealth.

3. Too many nonprofits use stiff and formal copy. A guide to conversational copywriting. I like #4: break the rules of grammar. Fortunately, I do it all the time without knowing it!

😎 Cool Jobs in Cause

1. Head of Social Media, Teach for America, Remote ($80k - $110k)

2. Executive Director, Starfinder Foundation, Philadelphia ($90,000)

🧠🍌 Brain Food

1. That ice cream truck song that was music to your ears 🎢when you were a kid? Bad news: it's racist.😬Good news: Good Humor ice cream just released a new song and is giving it away to truck operators.

2. This is crazy and disturbing. QAnon followers are hijacking the #SaveTheChildren movement.

3. This week's gahhden photo is of an August stalwart, black-eyed Susan flower (Rudbeckia hirta). I can't say enough good things about these flowers. They are drought-tolerant, sturdy and versatile. They'll grow in just about any soil or light conditions (except full-shade).πŸ’₯No wonder so many gardeners plant them!
