Remember to register for tomorrow's live Q&A on maximizing corporate partnerships!

On Thursday, May 4th, at 1 pm EDT, I'll be hosting a Q&A session with Charisse and Blair from Good Scout. โค๏ธโค๏ธ

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป The theme of this Q&A session will be how you can MAXIMIZE corporate partnerships with your current resources, assets, and staffing.

We've got some great questions!

"How do you do cold outreach well?"

"What are some best practices to steward partners once a partnership is established - that also don't overtax your team?"

"How can we best leverage our current corporate partner relationships to encourage and inspire others to join us?"

"What marketing materials should we focus on for building new partnerships?"

Are you coming???

  1. Sign up for the Q&A session  here .

  2. Ask a question to register.

  3. Show up live on Thursday, May 4th at 1 pm.

After hearing from many of you who are already booked for other appointments that day ๐Ÿ™„, I've relented and WILL BE RECORDING THE SESSION. But we would love for you to attend LIVE! It will be so much more interesting and fun if YOU are there. ๐Ÿฅฐ

โœ๏ธ Partnership Notes

1. Tito's Vodka is teaming up with the Bissell Pet Foundation so you can have a cocktail with your dog and support a great cause. I need this for my walks with Charlie the Yorkie! ๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿฆฎ

2. A good slide for your pitch deck. But it needs to be explained!

"Adults in the US donโ€™t place brand purpose among their top decision influencers when deciding which brands to purchase from, but when all else is equal, theyโ€™ll favor a brand for its purpose attributes."

To further demonstrate to a prospect your grasp of the nuances of cause, combine it with this slide that shows that consumer expectations around cause vary by business category.

Think how wicked smahht you'll look!

๐Ÿค‘ Marketing Your Cause

1. Opinion: Why harnessing trends is the future of marketing. This is on trend for me as I think nonprofits should be taking trends more seriously in their marketing

2. A good series of articles from the Knight Foundation. Americans are now looking to public individuals for news and information.

Public individuals are people who have public influence, for example, a celebrity, journalist, academic expert, show host, online influencer, or business leader. Key individuals in your nonprofit should also be public individuals. Are you working on this?

3. Why turning newsletters into podcasts is a great strategy.

Hmmm...should I do this with my newsletter? Should you?

"Even though with podcasts publishers donโ€™t get the same clear funnel view of listeners, expanding a newsletter into a podcast is nowadays logical, and research tells us they drive loyalty by building a habit."

๐Ÿ˜Ž Cool Jobs in Cause

1. Associate Director of Development, Corporate Relations, New England Aquarium, Boston, MA

2. Strategic Marketing & Partnerships Director, Everymind, Rockville, MD

๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒ Brain Food

1. Reverse ATMs. Will causes benefit from them? ๐Ÿค”

2. How to be extraordinary. You'll enjoy this if you are a Bruce Springsteen fan.

"Stop aiming for the same obvious target as everyone else. Figure out your first principles as a personโ€”the Lego blocks of your talents, interests, and preferencesโ€”and paint the target around them."

And to hell with what other people think! As a wise man once said, "To be great is to be misunderstood."
