Here's the prompt I want you to use:

Here's an example of the prompt in action using one of the outstanding local organizations I work with here in Massachusetts:

3. A good example of ​B2B cause marketing​. Izel Plants, which predominately sells to nurseries and landscapers, is donating $15 for every flat of plants sold to the botanical garden Mount Cuba Center (MCC) in Delaware.

First, MCC is on my list of places to visit! It looks beautiful.😍🌱 Second, I have every plant in this collection EXCEPT the Golden Fleece autumn goldenrod. I'm putting that on my to-grow list. I would love to have this low-growing, compact goldenrod in my garden!

🤑 Marketing Your Cause

1. Longtime reader David Tinker took me to task for my panning of the ALS Association's CEO Soak fundraiser in the Marketing Your Cause section of ​my last newsletter​.

First, David pointed out how popular the fundraiser is in his hometown of Pittsburgh.

Second, he made an excellent point on why fundraisers like this one are so successful. David even cited research! I was impressed.

"I believe it works well for fundraising because it fits into the model that the person raising money needs to "suffer." ​A professor at Carnegie Mellon has done extensive research on decision science​, including why people decide to give. He found that fundraising asks that work well include when the person asking is "suffering" from doing a task. Someone walking or running a long distance like a 5k, doing a dance marathon, or walking across hot coals (apparently it's a fundraising thing) is "suffering." Because they're doing something physical, it more often motivates people to give than those who just ask for a straight donation.

All this being said, it might not be viral like the Ice Bucket Challenge (which also caused people to "suffer"), but it is both unique and fun. Watching community and corporate leaders get soaked while wearing their suits is a fun way to spend your lunch break. And to raise six figures for an event that doesn't take much work is a bonus."
