โ๏ธ Partnership Notes
1. This cannabis retailer โencourages customers to recycle the plasticโ that encases certain cannabis products by offering a $4 pre-rolled joint for every piece of packaging they return.
I felt like the last paragraph could just as well be a message to nonprofits hesitant to work with the cannabis industry.
"Donโt be afraid of cannabis. Cannabis operators have been saying this to politicians since the legalization campaign. Engage with us. We are real business owners who are generating a lot of taxes. Look at our needs. Prioritize [eliminating] single-use plastic in this industry. Letโs work together to see what other solutions there are.โ
2. Shopping Gives does an โexcellent job in this case studyโ highlighting how hair care brand Olaplex saw a significant boost in customer lifetime value (CLTV) for customers who have created donations on purchases compared to those who havenโt.
These are the brand-centric results I like to write about in my case studies!
3. How to โscore a partnership dealโ in the next two weeks.
Make yourself available through the holiday season
Call your top prospects
Send out "Where did the year go?" email
๐ค Marketing Your Cause
1. Every year, the social impact agency Public takes its holiday gift-giving budget and puts it to good use for a social issue in the world.
This year, they are back with an all-new holiday campaign to tackle period poverty. Check out this year's campaign video, โDeck the Stalls.โ
2. How to train ChatGPT to write in โyour brandโs tone of voiceโ. The article includes 100 characters to choose from.
"Write this end-of-year appeal like Oprah Winfrey."
3. โHow to tell compelling storiesโ when your cause has no โHappy Endings.โ
๐ Cool Jobs in Cause

3. Manager, Corporate Partnerships & Cause Marketing, โLupus Foundation of Americaโ, Washington, DC
๐ง ๐ Brain Food
1. โThat Kars4Kids Charity with the bad jingle is โfighting a $10M legal battleโ over its name. I have no problem with the charity, โbut the ad is atrocious!โ Why can't the kids play the instruments?!
2. The โchallenge facing companiesโ when dealing with LGBTQ issues. They are damned if they do. They are damned if they don't. ๐ (๐ = I'm a subscriber to this publication and am "gifting" you this article.)
3. My wife was in NYC last weekend and witnessed SantaCon firsthand. This annual bar crawl of tens of thousands of revelers dressed as Santa Claus claims to be a fundraiser for charity. The Gothamist is reporting otherwise. โIs SantaCon just a con?
