The growing popularity among consumers who use them as a lifestyle tool, not to manage diabetes, is exacerbating existing health inequities. Yet, for many, CGMs remain out of reach. Autocratic governments, nihilistic oligarchs, escalating climate impacts, dynamic pandemics, menacing technologies, rampant misinformationall of these forces and more conspire to leave Americans and people around the world feeling less safe, more uncertain, and more frightened about the future.
Many in the nonprofit sector look at their income statements (also known as the “profit and loss” report), but unless you’re a chief financial officer or perform a similar role, you may spend far less time looking at your organization’s overall financial position. These assets help nonprofits deliver on their missions by generating income.
They can deliver a range of services adapted to the community’s unique needs such as dental care, primary care, preventive care and/or health screenings, chronic disease management, behavioral healthcare, substance use treatment, prenatal care, and pediatric care. Supportive policies and funding [for mobile health clinics] are still lacking.
Community-based organizations and local governments are starting to recognize where such individuals may fall through the cracks and are creating policies and networks for more inclusive disaster response and recovery. At the same time, these policies siphoned resources away from their communities.
Nonprofit boards are technically the most powerful entity within a nonprofit. However, too many nonprofit boards and board members don’t fully understand their core responsibilities. Despite how many nonprofit boards are struggling, board leadership and management does not have to be complicated.
In this series thus far, our colleagues have explored what this future requires of each of us , and what it could begin to look like for governments. But what about the nonprofit sector? As a nonprofit sector, the first crucial step toward accelerating our progress toward this future is aiming for it.
Governments and funders do not prioritize investing in rural access improvements due to a lack of data to make the case as well as competition from other development projects and a preference for urban investments. Despite these challenges and the significant need for solutions, rural mobility is often overlooked in global development.

Secondly, telemedicine reduces the burden on healthcare facilities by managing non-emergency cases remotely, thereby freeing up resources for critical care. Lastly, there are regulatory and reimbursement issues, as telemedicine services are not uniformly covered by insurancepolicies, leading to potential financial barriers for patients.
