Dear Nonprofit, I just received your email wishing me "Happy Holidays." Yet since these "wishes" are just a thinly veiled request for money, and your email included a TAKE ACTION button at the bottom, I thought I would by hitting reply and giving you a little advice. First, I don't even support your organization. So I have no idea why you are wishing me anything.

Yes, it is busy right now. Yes, we are in the midst of a heavy fundraising season, but in two weeks, when we all return to our offices after a brief holiday respite, it will be a clean 12 month slate for us to work with. Not all account takeovers are the same. . Some criminals go in and immediately begin purchasing products directly from the account. Unfortunately, victims typically don’t find out that their account has been compromised until they discover the charges on their monthly bank statements. Other crooks clean out an account by transferring funds to another account as fast as they can.
